Fallen Officers Memorial Tree

Fraternal Order of Police / Lodge 52

Pictured is an especially touching moment made by Nikki Johnson, the wife of fallen officer Michael Johnson (EOW: 3-24-2015). She placed the specially made ornament honoring her husband on the Christmas tree in remembrance of all officers who gave their lives in the performance of their duties.

Silicon Valley FOP Lodge 52 is comprised of law enforcement officers from Silicon Valley, both active and retired. Once again, the community joins our lodge to honor those law enforcement officers from throughout the nation who lost their lives to protect us. Former Lodge 52 President, Bobby Lopez (SJPD, ret.), envisioned this memorial a few years ago and we continue this annual tribute.

Christmas in the Park holds a holiday event at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez, San Jose, California as a way to bring the community together during the season with custom decorated trees. FOP Lodge 52 takes it a step further with a formal dedication of a special Christmas tree. Custom made ornaments with the names of law enforcement officers who have given their lives during the year adorn the tree. We also acknowledge and include the police canines who were killed protecting the community.

The ornaments are custom made by David Alan (Glass Impressions) and represent individual fallen officers. The ornaments are proudly displayed on the tree after a public presentation throughout the holiday season. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Pipe and Drums Bagpipers also join us in providing a solemn tribute during the event.
